Insight Communications Announces Appointments
New York – September 19, 2001 –
Insight Communications has announced two new appointments to its field operations in Columbus, Ohio and Springfield, Illinois.
Jim Hires has been named Vice President and General Manager for the Columbus, Ohio system. Most recently, Hires was General Manager of AT&T Broadband's Western Suburban Region, where he led the successful launch of telephone fulfillment services, launched new broadband Internet services and directed a new digital rollout. Prior to AT&T, Hires was General Manager with Jones Intercable in Chicago and Gibson City, Illinois. In his new role in Columbus, he will manage all facets of the 85,000 customer system, including the ongoing rebuild to a 870 MHz platform offering the interactivity of Insight Digital, as well as the continued deployment of Road Runner and preparations for the area’s upcoming telephony launch in the months ahead. Hires reports to Jim Stewart, Senior Vice President, Operations, Eastern Kentucky and National Regions.
Don Layher has accepted the position of Director of Marketing, Illinois Region. Layher has over fifteen years of sales and marketing experience with major MSOs. Most recently, he was with AT&T Broadband in Salt Lake City as Regional Director, Business Services Group. Prior to that he held the position of Director of Sales, Western Region with Primestar Inc. and has also held key marketing positions with Times Mirror Cable Television. In his new position, Layher will coordinate all marketing efforts for Insight’s 425,000 customers in Illinois and will report to Greg Capranica, Senior Vice President, Operations, Illinois Region.
