Insight Communications Company President and Chief Operating Officer to Step Down

New York – August 22, 2003

Insight Communications Company (Nasdaq: ICCI) announced today that the company's President and Chief Operating Officer, Kim D. Kelly, will step down from her positions. She has been with the cable company for 13 years.

Kelly will remain with the company until November 30, 2003 to help with a transition. She has agreed to be available to the company to provide consulting services for up to two years after her departure.

"Kim has been a major force contributing to the growth and success of Insight," stated Michael S. Willner, Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the company. "While she will be missed, she consistently had in place a terrific team of senior operating executives both in the systems and at the home office. All of them will continue to provide the same top quality management that they have in the past."

"I decided that it was time for me to pursue other opportunities," explained Kelly. "Clearly, this has been a difficult decision. I love this company and the people that make up Insight. They are the best in the industry and I have been proud to work with them."

The executives who reported to Kelly will report to Willner, who previously was the CEO and COO of Insight prior to Kelly taking on that position. He also was the Chief Operating Officer of Vision Cable Communications, a division of Newhouse Newspapers, before co-founding Insight in 1985.

The company has begun a search for a new COO and it was considering candidates both internally and externally.

Insight Communications is the 9th largest cable operator in the United States, serving approximately 1.4 million customers in the four contiguous states of Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, and Kentucky.
