Insight Broadband Customer Care does not provide support for home networking solutions. This includes, but is not limited to, devices such as hubs, routers, switches, and firewall solutions. The only hardware devices and/or software applications that are supported by Insight Broadband are those that are provided directly to you from Insight. Therefore, we cannot offer technical support for any type of home network configurations.
Even though we do not provide any type of network support, in the event that you choose to use a router with your cable modem, please consider the following installation tips:
1. Shut down your computer and any existing networking devices.
2. Unplug the power cord to your cable modem.
3. Make sure the cable modem Ethernet cord is plugged into the new router's Internet port (also referred to as the WAN or Modem port).
4. Plug the power cord into the cable modem.
5. After the cable modem has synchronized, plug in the power to your new router and then turn on your computer.

In no event shall Insight, its partners, agents or affiliates be held responsible or liable for any costs or damages whatsoever (including, without limitation, damages to access system hardware and/or software) arising out of the use or attempted use of any software and/or hardware not provided directly by Insight or its provided installation software. By using third party hardware and/or software, the user understands that Insight Broadband does not provide support for third party hardware and/or software, and understands that Insight Broadband does not recommend the usage of such software or components with its Service.
